Vintage ACME Pixie Elf Tree Stump Planter 1950s Made in Japan Ceramic Vase

Bring home a sprinkle of mid century holiday cheer with this rare vintage anthropomorphic ACME elf stump planter, straight out of the magical 1950s. This whimsical planter is full of character and charm, featuring a wide-eyed anthropomorphic elf figurine perched playfully on a hollow tree stump, ready to join your kitschy home decor and make you smile every time you walk by.

Hand-painted in rich, nostalgic hues, this ceramic planter shows off the kind of thoughtful detailing you expect from true vintage craftsmanship. The sweet pixie face, rosy cheeks, pointy hat, and expressive pose create a delightful face planter look that feels straight out of a storybook. The stump itself offers a natural tree-trunk texture that makes it perfect as a tiny pixie garden pot or as part of a fairy decor gift setup.

Sized at about 3.5 inches, this petite treasure fits perfectly on a windowsill, shelf, desk, or mantel. The opening of the stump vase is ideal for a small succulent planter, air plant, or tiny floral arrangement. You can use it as a head planter for low-maintenance greenery, as a ceramic stump planter for your favorite mini cactus, or as a stump vase for fresh or dried blooms. It also works well as a catchall for rings, paper clips, or wrapped candies, so it brings both charm and function to your space.

This vintage ceramic elf pot was made in Japan by ACME, a beloved mid-century maker known for playful, fairy-themed designs and magical holiday pieces. The combination of the anthropomorphic elf and the rustic stump form makes it a standout piece of whimsical home decor that fits beautifully with retro Christmas displays, cottagecore vignettes, gnome decor, and storybook-style shelves.

Condition is excellent for its age, with no cracks, chips, or repairs noted. The glaze still has a lovely sheen, and the hand-painted details remain crisp and full of personality. As with any vintage ceramic planter, minor wear or light crazing may be present, which only adds to its nostalgic appeal and authentic mid-century character.

This piece is especially lovely as a thoughtful gift for her to brighten her holiday home or fairy garden. It is small enough to display easily yet unique enough to feel personal. Give it as a birthday surprise, hostess present, Christmas stocking stuffer, or “just because” treat for someone who loves vintage style, woodland themes, or imaginative decor.
